About
Actually my name given when my parents adopted me is Hugh McAden Simpson. As a long time history buff who has studied American History in military school and later Ancient, Medieval and Modern in college I found out that my Mom had been wrong about being Scottish on her family's side. Instead McAden had been shortened from McCADDEN, which I discovered was IRISH.
So I began to search the history of McCadden and found that my ancestor was none other than HUGH THE TEMPLAR!
If you are familiar with Knights Templar history you may know of the infamous Friday the Thirteenth raid by French King Phillipe of the Templar Treasury in Paris and then the London Treasury. Of course the Templars were already prepared for the raid and had already moved all the funds out of both cities! Also they themselves had fled to what is today Switzerland and evidently Hugh The Templar fled to Ireland.
My research has me being the last descendant of Hugh The Templar, who actually was born in France, as Hugh de Payens a young educated knight.
My personal history has been three careers. First radio rock DJ and then radio news. That led to being selected to become eventually an investigative reporter for the prestigious Post Newsweek TV Group. Then I finished my extended undergrad time at Florida State University in 1972. Then I received a MS in Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Illinois in 1973.
I opened my own public relations consulting business first I my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida and later in Atlanta in 1978 when I became the public relations consultant to the Original Marlboro Man. During the twenty years of doing public relations I handled ultra marathon runner Stan Cottrell's World Guinness record runs - Run Across America (NYC to San Francisco)and China Wall Run (Beijing to Canton) and Atlanta's DragonCon, the world's largest sci-fi convention.
My third career started from reading a two paragraph article on an impending potential worldwide disaster - Y2K. That led to writing my A Family Survival Manual for Y2K & Beyond in 1999. Then I decided to study Emergency Preparedness and that led to twenty years of teaching and writing numerous books on Emergency Preparedness, Survival Skills and Situational Awareness.
My latest career now at 80 years young is whatever my Lord Jesus Christ desires me to do.
